Cat Poems

I recently bought this slim anthology of Cat Poems by the Worlds Greatest Poets, funnily enough it didn’t contain my personal favourite cat poem, Gus: The Theatre Cat by TS Eliot, although I won’t hold this against the publishers and it was still a very charming collection. The Cat and the Moon by Yeats took me back to my A Level English days and reminded me how much more fun reading Yeats poetry is when you don’t have to analyse it for an exam. Another old classic that I really enjoyed rereading was Edward Lear’s, The Owl and the Pussycat. I also found some new favourites that I had not read before, including the following poem by Eliot Weinberger which I found particularly delightful.
