VISION & VIRTUOSITY BY TIFFANY & CO.

I recently visited the Vision and Virtuosity exhibition by Tiffany at the Saatchi Gallery, there was so much to see and the exhibition was so beautifully curated, my favourite part was absolutely the room dedicated to Breakfast at Tiffany’s which included the original Givenchy gown that Audrey Hepburn wore in the film Truman Capotes first manuscript for the book with his annotations, behind the scene photography from shooting the film and the oscars that the film won for the song “moon river” and the movie score.

A really cool thing you can do at the Tiffany exhibition is try some of the classic jewellery on. This ring is the classic Tiffany engagement ring which was designed by Charles Louis Tiffany in 1886. Charles was the first person to use a single diamond and set it elevated from the band, prior to this engagement rings were typically a collection of Ruby’s pressed into a yellow gold band (Charles opted for platinum over yellow gold because of its durability) Elevating the diamond truly makes it stand out and Charles original design has become a timeless classic. This particular ring is 1.8 carats and costs £56400 not only due to it’s size but also the beautiful clarity of the stone, however the lovely lady helping me assured me that in the Tiffany store there are slightly smaller rings starting at £2000.
